ESPN retains MotoGP rights for LATAM, Caribbean

Dorna and ESPN have extended their MotoGP broadcasting rights deal by three years in Latin America and the Caribbean.



moto gpUnder the terms of the agreement, ESPN will broadcast the complete 2016, 2017 and 2018 seasons of MotoGP, including free practices, qualifying sessions, races and highlights, as well as additional coverage of the Moto2 and Moto3 World Championships.

“We´re happy to add another three years to our ongoing partnership with ESPN. Throughout our relationship we have been growing the coverage offered across all the platforms on which ESPN has a presence,” said Manel Arroyo, managing director, TV and media, Dorna Sports, which manages MotoGP TV rights worldwide. “In addition, ESPN is heavily involved in the Gran Premio de Argentina [to be held on 3 April], with live programming broadcast directly from the circuit throughout the weekend.”

For ESPN programming, it’s very important to provide the best MotoGP coverage in the region, especially given we are the home network of so many motor racing events,” added Federico Reyna, director of acquisition and digital media, ESPN.
