FremantleMedia gameshow format The Eureka Moment is being co-developed for Chinese audiences and set to air on CCTV-1 from June 2016.
The 11x90’ episodes will be co-produced by FremantleMedia China and the national broadcaster’s wholly-owned subsidiary CCTV Creation. They are then destined for a prime time Sunday night transmission slot.
The show, originally developed by Blue Circle for RTL4 in the Netherlands, features two couples testing their knowledge and ability to perform stunts and experiments, to try and win the holiday of a lifetime.
“We’re very excited about working with CCTV on The Eureka Moment. This is the first time that we have placed a series into the much-coveted Sunday evening prime time slot on CCTV-1 and we’re looking forward to developing our relationship further to co-develop many more FM formats in the future,” said Vivian Yin, CEO, FremantleMedia China.
Mr Guo, head of CCTV Creative Media Co, said the company was “glad and honoured” to be developing content with FremantleMedia. “On the basis of the original, I firmly believe that we will develop a very influential show together with FremantleMedia China,” he added.
CCTV has already produced local versions of FremantleMedia formats Thank God You’re Here and talent competition Don’t Stop Me Now, which has recently been renewed for a further 52 episodes.
