Argentina's Superclásico scores a trio

For the first time, Argentina's Superclásico - the football game between River and Boca – was broadcast by three different networks, getting a 37% share.
boca riverAccording to figures released by Kantar Ibope Media, the match continues to break records on TV, reaching 2.92 million viewers and with almost four in ten people watching TV during the Superclásico broadcast.
The match, which ended with no goals, was simultaneously aired on Argentina's free-to-air (FTA) TV by El Trece, Telefé and América.
As with other classic football duels, such as Spain's El Clásico, the Superclásico is a must-watch for Argentineans. In fact, in 2015 the match also achieved high TV ratings and around a 33% share.
Ever since the public organisation Futbol Para Todos has owned the country's football TV rights (2009), the entire first division has been broadcast free-to-air through the public TV, Telefé and América. From January 2016 onwards, El Trece has joined the two private channels and now also airs matches from Argentina's top-five teams.
