Swisscom expands IPTV development deal with 3 Screen

Swisscom AG has extended its agreement with 3 Screen Solutions to improve the user experience for its IPTV audiences.



3 Screen Solutions had earlier been appointed by Swisscom as software developer of the viewer interface for Swisscom TV 2.0, which uses an Android STB. As part of the project, 3 Screen Solutions developed frontends for STBs, iOS, Android and WP7 smartphones plus iOS and Android tablets.

The aim of the renewed development programme is to leverage new technologies to benefit Swisscom’s existing and future subscribers.

“Swisscom TV 2.0 has been a tremendous success, and we greatly appreciate the support provided by the talented team at 3 Screen Solutions in developing such an innovative user interface platform in accordance with our specifications,” said Peter Fregelius, head of TV & entertainment technology at Swisscom. “Now we will look deeper into the user journey, and the wider network, to discover how the next generation of technology can make Swisscom TV 2.0 even better for viewers.”
