MundoMax, Colombia's RCN-owned network for US Hispanics, has named Jose Molina as interim president to replace Ibra Morales, who left the job to pursue other interests.

mundomaxMolina joined MundoMax as CFO less than six months ago. The move follows the recent appointment of veteran TV sales executive Nicolas Valls as senior vice president of advertising sales, as well as the realignment of the network's advertising sales operations.

“Laying the groundwork for the network's promising future over the past two years has been an amazing and rewarding experience,” stated Morales. “I believe the network will be in an outstanding position to serve the US Hispanic community. As an independent entity, MundoMax is now well on its way to writing the next chapter in its development and expansion.”

The channel was renamed to MundoMax after RCN bought it last year from FOX, which decided to abandon the MundoFox project three years after its launch.

“Ibra has played a major role contributing to the network's reorganisation efforts. Building on his success, I look forward to continuing to work closely with our board, management team and employees as we continue to realign our operations for the next stage of growth,” added Molina.

“We are taking a very disciplined and strategic approach, supported by our parent company, RCN Television Group, which is committed to leveraging its content resources to build a successful Hispanic media platform in the US,” he said.

Prior to joining MundoMax, Molina worked for 14 years at the Spanish Broadcasting System, most recently as VP of finance.
