As part of its plans to expand its network of media partners in China, Singapore-based Chinese television content syndicator and aggregator MyChinaChannel has beefed up its senior management.
MCC focuses on providing Chinese content on current affairs, education and lifestyle. In 2015 it announced that it will be co-developing content with leading financial newswire China Business Network for audiences in China, Hong Kong and Singapore, via StarHub Cable.
The appointment of Edwin Koh as chief operating officer will be part of the drive to open up more opportunities to bring Chinese content to Singapore and the rest of the world. Koh will be responsible for building strategic business goals and managing business operations to deliver a go-to-market competitive strategy and operational excellence within the company. Working alongside MCC CEO Mr Patrick Yong, Koh will also manage sales and marketing operations, customer experience, business development and public affairs, developing new business opportunities and leading the strategic development of network channels CBN and MaxToon.
Commenting on the move, Tong said: “Over the years, China-made television content has been making great leaps in terms of quality and variety and we are glad to have entered this market at an early stage to be able to ride on their increasing popularity. Edwin’s appointment to the team has come at an opportune time as we have exciting plans to grow our content and extend our audience base to the ASEAN region. His deep experience in marketing and his familiarity with television media will give MCC an edge over others in the competitive TV market place.”
