Digicel expands fibre footprint in the Caribbean

Digicel Group has signed an agreement to acquire Curaçao’s TRES Networks, the main fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) operator on the Caribbean island.



fibra iptvThe financial details of the deal haven’t been revealed yet, and the company has said that the acquisition is subject to government approval. Through this move, Digicel would strengthen its position as one of main fibre and IPTV providers across the Caribbean region.

TRES Networks is a fixed and international long distance telecommunications operator and distributor of IPTV and entertainment services. Through Curaçao's only 100% fibre network, it provides residential and business customers with high-speed Internet, voice and digital services.
