In the latest of a number of strategic partnerships it has struck, V-Nova is joining forces with Eiber to produce what they call the industry’s most efficient solution for contribution and remote production.

At NAB 2016 the leading provider of video compression solutions and video transport expert will launch their joint P.Link HD solution, which they say maximises video contribution efficiency and flexibility. P.Link HD uses the video compression performance of V-Nova PERSEUS to provide what the partners claim is a 30–50% bandwidth reduction for visually lossless HD video backhaul. Moreover, they say that the product’s dynamic multiplexing and compression performance combine to make multi-camera feeds and remote production economically viable.

“The new high-density P.Link HD solution [increases] contribution video quality while simultaneously reducing bandwidth requirements, an exciting win-win for all transporters of HD video,” remarked Edoardo Bernardi, general director of Eiber.

Added V-Nova CEO and co-founder Guido Meardi: “P.Link HD combines the lowest bandwidth requirements in the market with a highly reliable, power- and space-efficient platform, effectively allowing both OPEX and CAPEX savings by giving broadcasters the possibility to add video feeds and increase remote production without costly network upgrades.”
