Paprika Latino has appointed its current COO Akos Erdos as CEO.

Prior to joining Paprika in 2013, Akos headed Origo Film Studios in Hungary.

Paprika was first established in Romania and is now present in most of central Europe, from the Baltics to Bulgaria. Paprika has also expanded into Costa Rica, where it produces hit ‘sunshine reality’ formats like Paradise Hotel, Survivor and Are you the One for multiple countries and broadcasters. Paprika is both a partner for international rights owners, as well as a developer of its own original programming. It provides international clients with a unique combination of location services and hub productions, such as for Release the Hounds, while home-grown titles include Fish on the Cake, which was first produced in Hungary in 2007.

“I am very pleased to announce Akos as the new CEO of Paprika. He will continue to develop our relationships with our ever growing customer base, and as more and more of our own formats are broadcast across the central Europe region,” said Morten Aass, CEO of parent company Nice Entertainment.

Akos replaces Peter Marschall, who founded Paprika in 2004 and is leaving the company as part of a planned succession process.

“Paprika has been my total focus and dedication for more than 10 years,” said Marschall. “I have had the privilege to build and work with some of the most talented teams in the business, and I am really proud of what we have accomplished together. I have enjoyed every step of this entrepreneurial success story, and I am sure that Paprika and Nice will continue their positive development in the future.”
