Hispasat on the hunt for Ultra HD talent

Hispasat is calling for entries to the second edition of the Hispasat 4K International Film Festival, the winner of which will be awarded the opportunity to direct a full-length film.
hispasat 4kThe festival is sponsored by Cine365 Film, Samsung and Dolby Laboratories and is also in association with RTVE, SGO, Fujifilm and the Ad Hoc sound studio.
Following a great response to last year’s inaugural festival, the Spanish satellite operator has included significant changes in this year’s event. A new award category for Best Director has been included, in which the winner will be paid to direct a feature film, to be produced by Cine365 Film during 2017. It hasn’t been decided yet whether this will be a 4K film or not.
Hispasat will also be sponsoring the San Sebastian Film Festival this year. The Hispasat 4K International Film Festival’s award ceremony will be held in September within the framework of San Sebastian event, where the winning short films will be showcased.
The Hispasat 4K International Film Festival is open to films produced in any country and any genre, with a maximum duration of 25 minutes, shot and post-produced in 4K. Entry is open until 3 July.
The following awards are: Cine365 award for best director (prize: to direct a feature film); Hispasat award for best short film (€3,000 plus a Samsung SUHD TV); Dolby award for best sound (€1,000 plus Dolby ATMOS mastering); Samsung SUHD jury award (€1,000 plus a Samsung SUHD TV); RTVE award for best short film from a film academy (€1,000 plus its premiere on TV); and Fujifilm/SGO award for best photography (€1,000 plus a Fujifilm professional camera).
