Pay-TV network Celestial Tiger Entertainment (CTE) has acquired the pay-TV and over-the-top (OTT) rights in Southeast Asia to three programmes for young children.
Domo from NHK in Japan, Let’s Play with Boomchiki Boom, produced by Grafizix in South Korea, and Our Friend Remy Bear, produced by Xiongxiaomi Media in China, will be shown on CTE’s Mandarin channel Miao Mi, which is aimed at children aged three to six.
The pay-TV operator will offer all three shows in Mandarin and in local languages.
“We are very excited to be bringing Domo, Let's Play with Boomchiki Boom and Our Friend Remy Bear to Miao Mi. Each of these shows epitomises the qualities we are looking for when programming Miao Mi. All three shows are ideal for preschool kids, they are both educational and entertaining, and they possess inherent Asian values and cultures,” said Ofanny Choi, executive vice president, TV Networks, Celestial Tiger Entertainment.
The shows will all be available on Miao Mi via both pay-TV and OTT exclusively; however Domo will be shown non-exclusively via CTE’s OTT service, while Let’s Play with Boomchiki Boom will be non-exclusive in Malaysia and Brunei.
