Univision’s Fusion goes independent

Following its agreement with ABC to become the sole owner of Fusion, a joint venture the two companies launched in 2013, Univision has formed the Fusion Media Group (FMG) to serve as a single platform for all its multicultural networks targeting young viewers in the US.



univision logoFMG will include Fusion, El Rey, The Root, The Onion, A.V. Club, Clickhole, Starwipe, Flama, Univision Digital and Univision Music and is building on the success of Fusion, the media brand that targets young, diverse audiences with a broad multi-platform effort across television, digital, social and over-the-top (OTT) services. Currently, it reaches approximately 27 million people each month across all platforms, and in 2015 its website saw traffic grow over 305% (10 million monthly unique visitors).
