In a bid to enhance its growth strategy in a key market, satellite firm NovelSat has signed a transmission agreement with leading Japanese distributor Sanshin Electronics.

Novel sat 16 MaySanshin boasts a broad Japan-wide network with 13 branch offices and is to deploy a team of highly experienced full-time application engineers to support the expansion program of NovelSat products into its local market. With its optional NS4 satellite waveform, NovelSat says that satellite users can boost capacity by up to 45% compared with DVB-S2. This, the company says, means more HD and 4K/Ultra HD TV channels and more data without increasing costly satellite bandwidth budgets.

“With the growth in the satellite sector and new opportunities for satellite communications consumers of all types and sizes, we are confident that forming a partnership with NovelSat and its leading satellite transmission technology will contribute to our growth,” commented Yuji Mori, Sanshin Electronics' broadcasting systems sales vice president.

Added NovelSat CEO Itzik Wulkan: “Building presence in Japan’s satellite communications market is an important part of the NovelSat global strategy ... With NovelSat technology and Sanshin’s vast experience, capable staff and nationwide reach, we believe that we have a winning combination for accelerated success in the region.”
