DRG North American chief to expand role to LATAM

Independent content distributor DRG has expanded senior vice president Scott Kirkpatrick’s role to include business development throughout Latin America.
scott kirkpatrickHaving held the position of SVP of North America for the past year, Kirkpatrick will now be charged with growing DRG’s established distribution business across South America, as well as overseeing format sales in Canada and Latin America.
“Over the past year Scott has proven his ability by being an influential factor in DRG’s substantial growth in our North American footprint, and the time is right now to expand into Latin America under his guidance,” said Richard Halliwell, MD of DRG. “Scott’s proven experience in devising and implementing international distribution strategies makes him the ideal leader to further expand DRG’s global presence in a rapidly growing market.”
Kirkpatrick added: “Latin America is a key focus for the business as we look to increase our activity in the market, and I am thrilled to be leading DRG’s development in the region. Over the last few years the Latin American TV market has grown considerably, and we’re seeing a demand for high-quality, compelling programming, particularly in the entertainment genre. DRG is perfectly poised to meet the demand with our range of acclaimed and diverse content.”
The new role of SVP for North and South America will see Kirkpatrick build on DRG’s established presence in Latin America, as well as handle the growing number of titles that DRG has sold in the region. Recent deals include the sale of Finnish scripted black comedy, Black Widows to Brazilian channel Globosat, Baby Animals in the Wild to National Geographic and series nine of hit Channel 4 comedy Peep Show to Turner for Latin America.
