SPN India launches multi-language feeds for EURO 2016

Indian football fans will be able to watch the UEFA EURO 2016 tournament in a range of languages after Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) announced multiple feeds for its live coverage.
sony picturesnetworkEnglish, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam speakers will all be catered for by the pay-TV operator, which aims to attract a larger regional audience for the month long international football event. Starting on 10 June, two times defending champions Spain will compete with Europe’s finest national teams – including Germany, Italy, Portugal, England, and hosts France – to become European champions.
Matches will be broadcast live across India on the Sony SIX and Sony ESPN channels at 6.30pm, 9.30pm and 12.30 am. Sony SIX will provide the English language feed for programming during the tournament while Sony ESPN will offer an option of Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil or Telugu language feeds. Sony LIV will live stream all the games via its digital platform.
Regional feeds for broadcasting sports properties was a pioneering initiative in India with the Bengali feed on Sony AATH for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, SPN claims.
EURO 2016 comes hot on the heels of SPN’s flagship sporting property, the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 cricket tournament. The VIVO IPL 2016, which is being shown across Sony Max, Sony SIX and Sony ESPN channels, finishes on 29 May.
