Deluxe delivers software-defined broadcast services for MP & Silva

Deluxe Entertainment Services Group has expanded its relationship with Asian TV and media rights distributor MP & Silva to provide an online managed broadcast delivery service.



media cloud 26 May 2016The new offering is designed to transport and deliver up to 16 simultaneous live broadcast signals containing European sports properties to Singapore using the public Internet. The deal sees Deluxe extend its relationship with MP & Silva, building on current work delivering live American football games to broadcasters in Europe for MP & Silva through its software-defined broadcast platform, Deluxe MediaCloud.

Deluxe MediaCloud enables MP & Silva to reach multiple broadcasters with a single output channel, and exploit their properties on new OTT and VOD platforms in the region. Deluxe will downlink MP & Silva properties in Europe, encode them to an IP stream, then transport and deliver them directly to the Deluxe data centre in London for monitoring and control purposes where the signals will be inserted into the Deluxe BDN. Once the signal is on the BDN, Deluxe will deliver the live video signals to MP & Silva’s production facility in Singapore, where Deluxe will provision decoders to convert the IP stream to SDI or HD/SDI for handoff to MP & Silva.

We’ve learned that good content management is key to keeping broadcasters, federations and leagues happy, and the technical flexibility of Deluxe MediaCloud is critical here.”
