David Smyth promoted to Twentieth Century Fox TV senior VP and MD Europe

Aiming to boost distribution activity and expand business with broadcasters across Western Europe and Russia, David Smyth has been named as new senior vice president and managing director, Europe, Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution (TCFTVD).

David Smyth 1 July 2016Smyth will now take charge of the TCFTVD’s London office and will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the division as well as distribution activity and expansion of business relationships with broadcasters across Europe and Russia. He will continue to work with TCFTVD production executives in developing co-production opportunities for new, original content to air in the US and around the world.

Smyth has been with the company since 2009, with responsibilities including licensing TCFTVD’s television programmes and film product to various European territories and Russia. He has also explored co-production opportunities in Europe. He replaces Steve Cornish, who is retiring after 30 years with the company.

I will use my experience and build on the wonderful relationships we’ve developed over the years to grow our operations further.”
