Tigo-UNE launches satellite TV service

Colombian operator Tigo-UNE, owned by Luxembourg-based Millicom, has launched a satellite offering.

tigo starInitially available only in selected parts of the country, the service is dubbed Tigo Star.

Two different packages are available: the basic offer is a $15 deal for 114 channels including Win Sports, Tigo Music and Une; and a premium tier goes for $22 per month offering with 137 channels — 17 of which are in HD, including BBC Earth, ESPN+, Fox, Fox Sports, TNT and Warner Channel.

It can be found in the Cordoba, Antioquia and Sucre departments for now, but the operator plans to expand it to more subscribers outside Colombia's main cities by the end of the year.
