Media content distribution software provider Dimetis has announced a technology partnership with V-Nova which will see the P.Link contribution solution integrated with its BOSS LINK Manager.

The two companies see their partnership as a major milestone in enabling service orchestration to shake up the traditional hardware-based contribution market and accelerate the transition to a more software-based and virtualised environment.

Dimetis Systems serve more than 600 million viewers worldwide and its software solutions are designed for customers worldwide to manage and optimise the flow across video facilities and communication networks, facilitating media exchange usages and operational efficiency. P.Link is a software-based PERSEUS contribution encoding and decoding solution, which integrates into existing workflows and infrastructure and is claimed to offer ‘unmatched’ 4K / Ultra HD performance at ‘visually lossless’ quality and low latency.

“We believe in consumer demand for higher quality and for the need to capture and exchange more and more captivating 4K/Ultra HD content. By allowing 4K to be delivered alongside HD feeds within the existing capacity, PERSEUS-powered P.Link makes the business case for 4K contribution much more appealing today,” commented V-Nova CEO and co-founder Guido Meardi. “The partnership with Dimetis, which has a really strong reputation for operational support systems in the broadcast and telecom markets, ensures that our customers can now deploy, control and manage P.Link software-based solutions much more easily.”
