RFD-TV is bringing back a beloved TV series to showcase classic country performances by musical legends from the Grand Ole Opry archives.
That Nashville Music (originally titled That Good Ole Nashville Music) was a half-hour syndicated series on air for 15 seasons from 1970 to 1985, produced in association with WSM-TV and Opryland U.S.A. in Nashville.
“For years the No 1 request from viewers has been to add programming from the Grand Ole Opry stage to RFD-TV. I’m happy to announce that we finally got it done,” said Patrick Gottsch, founder and president of RFD-TV.*
“Starting in November, That Nashville Music will feature classic performances from all your favourite country artists from the 1970s and 1980s. Bye-bye repeats; hello new programming. It’s our way of saying thank you to our fans and viewers who support RFD-TV.”
Episodes include iconic performances from Mickey Gilley, Ferlin Husky, Margo Smith, George Jones, Tammy Wynette, Merle Haggard, Leona Williams, Johnny Duncan, Ronnie Milsap, Boots Randolph, Jerry Reed, Tom T. Hall, Roni Stoneman, Gene Watson, Dottsy, Charlie McCoy, Ray Price, Barbara Mandrell, the Statler Brothers and Charlie Daniels.
RFD-TV and the Opry plan to collaborate on additional programming content featuring the Grand Ole Opry stage.
RFD-TV is expanding distribution, too. Recently, Mediacom Communications launched RFD-TV*in high definition across its national footprint.
