Discovery Networks Latin America has promoted Allan Navarrete to EVP of distribution, and added Miguel Cárdenas and Jorge Murillo to the Mexican executive board.

Navarrete will add the EVP role to his general manager position at Discovery US Hispanic. Based in Miami, he will be directly reporting to Enrique R Martínez, president and CEO, Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic and Canada.

Discovery Networks has appointed Cárdenas as country manager in Mexico, a role in which he will be responsible for sales, research, marketing and commercial partnership. Based in Mexico City, he will report to Navarrete.

Murillo has been named commercial VP of Discovery Networks Mexico, reporting to Cárdenas, and will be leading the long-term commercial strategies. He will also be responsible for identifying new business opportunities.

“Allan Navarrate has done an excellent job leading our operations in Mexico, which is one of our main markets together with Central America and Colombia. Under his leadership, all these markets have expanded, delivering great profits for the company,” said Martínez. “And all of this, together with his responsibilities in the US Hispanic’s highly competitive pay-TV market.”

Both Navarrete and Cárdenas have been promoted within Discovery’s internal executive structure, while Murillo previously worked for NBC Universal and E! Entertainment in Mexico.
