Spain’s Albalá Ingenieros in partnership with ADTEL Latam has delivered a distribution and switching DVB-ASI and DVB-over-IP solution for Colombia’s public broadcaster Radio Television Colombiana (RTVC).

This equipment will be used by RTVC for switching between the main and reserve signals of the public and regional channels. The system will be implemented in the EPG header.

The equipment supplied by Albalá Ingenieros includes an automated switch for DVB-ASI signals with advanced transport stream (TS) error detection functions, two inputs distributed over four outputs, and an automated switch for DVB-ASI and DVB-over-IP signals with TS error detection functions.

Vicente Polo, founder, Albalá Ingenieros, said: “We are highly satisfied with our collaboration with ADTEL Latam, which is placing our products in vaunted positions within the Latin American market, something that is of great importance to Albalá’s international strategy.”

Albalá closed two other important deals in Latin America during Q4 2016, becoming technology provider to both Claro Chile and Colombia’s WIN Sports.
