AMC Networks International Latin America has reached a distribution agreement with Televisa to add AMC to Sky’s VeTV pay-TV package.
Through the deal, the group’s flagship channel will be available through one of the premium content packages of Mexico’s largest satellite operator.
The network, which will be switched on for VeTV’s subscribers before the end of the month, delivers access to all of the production house’s series, including Fear the Walking Dead, Humans, Into the Badlands and The Terror.
“This agreement enables Sky’s VeTV to foster loyalty among its subscribers through an innovative channel which has increased its footprint in the country thanks to the quality of its original content,” said Gustavo López, VP, distribution, AMC Networks International Latin America. “In addition, it enables AMC to strengthen its brand and keep adding subscribers in one of LATAM’s most important markets for the entertainment industry.”
The channel, which launched in Mexico in 2014, was the international entertainment network that saw most growth in 2016, according to Ibope figures delivered by the group. As part of a major expansion plan carried out in 2014, the signal is already available through most of Mexico’s cable operators as well as the IPTV provider TotalPlay.
