Ghana’s Mega-Choice Digital Network launches DTH service

Mega-Choice Digital Network has officially launched its direct-to-home (DTH) television platform in Ghana, in collaboration with private TV network operator Crystal TV.
The new DTH service, supported by a ten-year tie-up with satellite operator Eutelsat, was unveiled in Accra at the International Summit on Content Management for Digital Broadcasting and Media.
Initially Mega-Choice will offer subscribers in Ghana a mix of 36 free-to-air and pay-TV channels, from both local and international broadcasters, via a DVB-S2/T2 digital terrestrial transmission (DTT) network.
In its second phase of growth, the company plans to utilise the power and coverage area offered by the Eutelsat 16A satellite to expand to other West African markets.
Free-to-air channels include Al Jazeera English, Crystal TV Prime, Crystal TV Xtra, Crystal TV Plus, Deutsche Welle, E TV Ghana, EWTN Africa & Asia, France 24 English, Narrow Gate TV, GMP Newsworld, CGTN, Paradise Music Channel, and Metro TV.
In addition, Mega-Choice will offer subscribers paid linear and on-demand premium channels including Filmbox Africa, Filmbox Arthouse, Filmbox Action, Fightbox HD, Docubox, FashionBox, Fast & Fun Box, Madscreen Box, 360 Tunebox, Homeland TV, AMNET and Junior World TV.
