Opera TV, Zinwell to offer OTT ready set top boxes in Asia-Pacific

Opera TV is to bring over-the-top (OTT) video capabilities to Zinwell set-top boxes in a new partnership for the Asia-Pacific.
The Opera TV HTML5 SDK will be integrated on Zinwell set-top-boxes, while a managed cloud platform called the Opera TV Store provides a selection of OTT content from over 1000 different content providers. The content is categorised into broadcast or video-on-demand (VOD), and genres including lifestyle, music, children’s, nature and travel, news and weather, e-gaming, and sports, in HD and 4K/Ultra HD formats.
Opera TV is also a YouTube Certified Partner, enabling the delivery of YouTube content to Smart TVs, Blu-ray players, and set-top-boxes via the SDK.
“The APAC OTT market is poised for exponential growth in in the next five years, with Digital TV Research predicting that OTT TV and video revenues in the region will triple by 2021 to reach US$18.4 billion,” said Aneesh Rajaram, CEO, Opera TV. “Our partnership with Zinwell will enable key service provider partners to bring leading global and regional OTT services to their end subscribers, ensuring they complement their existing viewing experience.”
