UPC is delighted to announce that Stéphane Rochette and Ueli Schwarz have joined MySports as ice hockey experts. The two experienced professionals will join the editorial team of the new Swiss sports channel in French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland.

MySports is set to commence broadcasting in summer 2017 and is now expanding its teams in a bid to become Switzerland’s most popular sports channel. Roger Feiner, VP MySports Media at UPC, said: “We are delighted to welcome renowned hockey experts Stéphane Rochette and Ueli Schwarz to the MySports team. They both have many years of experience in the media and are very popular among ice hockey fans who value their analyses.”

About Stéphane Rochette
With a business and finance diploma from the HEC Montréal Business School under his belt, the now 48-year-old French Canadian came to Switzerland from Quebec in 1991, where he began his career as junior chief trainer and player in Neuchâtel. He remained there until 1999. The following year he became a referee for the National League A, a role he performed on a full-time basis from 2009 until 2014. He terminated this career having refereed more than 850 NLA matches. 2014 saw him become chief coach of Lausanne HC, and at the same time take up a role as a pundit with Teleclub. For MySports he will commentate ice hockey matches in French-speaking Switzerland as an exclusive consultant. “I am very excited to be joining the MySports team and taking up this new personal and professional challenge,” stresses Rochette.

About Ueli Schwarz
A former primary school and vocational college teacher, he turned his passion for ice hockey into a career some 30 years ago. He served as a trainer of juniors, amateurs and professionals for many years and coached SC Langnau, SC Langenthal, SC Bern and HC Fribourg-Gottéron, as well as the U18 and U20 national teams. He later became club manager of the SCL Tigers, Lausanne HC and EHC Basel. As a member of the executive board, he helped organise the 2009 World Ice Hockey Championships. He then joined the executive board of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation, where he served as Sports Director with responsibility for the national teams, the work of the referees and overseeing the National League. He will serve as a part-time ice hockey expert for MySports’ German-speaking channel. “MySports is an excellent platform for ice hockey! Together with a highly motivated and competent team, I am looking forward to presenting a good product to representatives of clubs, the federation and fans and contributing to the development of MySports and Swiss ice hockey.”
