Univision preps virtual reality documentary

In the wake of president Donald Trump’s aggressive immigration executive order, Univision News has documented the stories of seven immigrants, using 360° video cameras.


The In Danger of Deportation documentary series puts Univision viewers*in the shoes of some of the people most at risk of deportation under the Trump administration. The virtual reality experience can be watched with Google Cardboard or any other VR headset, or viewers can watch the videos through the Univision YouTube app - each scene is advanced by moving the phone.

The individual stories included in the project are: José, at risk of deportation for an old DUI charge; Imelda and her husband, protected by ‘Parole in Place' (PIP); Diana, in fear of an old deportation order; Valeria, a DACA beneficiary; and Valdemar and his daughter, who came to the US 10 days before the 2016 presidential election.
