Laura Fleury has been brought in by A+E Networks to act as SVP, head of programming, international, to drive performance and growth across the company’s non-US portfolio.
Fleury has been with A+E Networks for over 20 years and was previously appointed SVP, programming and development of LMN in 2015, having served as head of programming & development since 2013.
In her new post, Fleury will be responsible for overseeing content on several leading brands such as HISTORY, H2, Lifetime, A&E Network, FYI, Blaze and Crime + Investigation. As well as running a New York-based programming team and working closely with the programming leads for all A+E brands internationally, she will manage global programming teams on development of original content, co-productions, scheduling and acquisition strategies with the objective to increase cultural relevance around A+E’s brands worldwide. In addition, she will have oversight of content sourced from A+E’s US networks and will collaborate on international investments in scripted productions, TV, co-productions and original productions, as well as help organise new programming strategies for new channel launches.
“Laura is a veteran TV executive whose track record for delivering ratings hits and long-running, culturally-relevant franchises will be a major asset to the international team,” remarked Patrick Vien, A+E Networks executive managing director, international, to whom Fleury will report. “With an eye toward making our brands more meaningful both locally and globally, her diverse acumen will be crucial for driving tailored programming strategies, market by market, and as we deepen our commitment to local production.”
