Mediaset and Atresmedia have both selected Mediapro’s Globomedia to produce their new lead fictional series.
Atresmedia premiered Pulsaciones last weekend on Atreseries, its series-themed free-to-air (FTA) channel in Spain. The thriller, which stars Pablo Derqui, Leonor Watling, Meritxell Calvo, Ingrid Rubio and Juan Diego Botto, will only run for ten episodes.
According to the Spanish media company, the series has departed from more classic formulas and follows a new structure that will apply to all new Atreseries productions.
Pulsaciones has already received major international recognition, with The Wit naming the series one of the most outstanding and original formats during MIPTV.
Mediapro’s Globomedia has also started producing El Accidente for Mediaset’s Telecinco, a thriller starring Quim Gutiérrez and Inma Cuesta.
The series kicks off after a plane crash, and will follow a similar structure to Pulsaciones, as the plot will develop through 13 episodes and there will only be one season. Telecinco hasn’t yet revealed the premiere date of El Accidente.
