Following the deployment of its fibre network, Entel has announced it will launch a triple-play offer, including IPTV, by March.

Targeting 250,000 homes across the country’s main cities, Entel is now completing the last phase of its fibre deployment, from the central network to residences.

“The most difficult investment is done, now we are only missing the last mile, so we are going to reach Bolivian homes with little investment,” said Oscar Coca, Entel’s manager, speaking to the newspaper Los Tiempos.

The convergent offer with pay-TV, Internet and phone will be deployed through a broadband network able to reach downloading speeds of up to 50Mbps.

“On average, the fibre-to-the-home network will allow 50Mbps, enough to watch high quality TV and broadband Internet through the same connection,” added Coca.

Entel’s fibre deployment has taken almost four years. The national telco’s biggest competitor, Millicom’s Tigo, has been offering triple-play packages since the Q4 2015.
