AsiaSat, Globecast extend occasional use agreement

Hong Kong-based satellite operator AsiaSat has extended an occasional use service agreement with media service provider Globecast.
The partnership between the two companies, which spans 15 years, will enable Globecast to deliver to customers around the world live sports from Asia such as the AFC, golf tournaments, Asian Beach Games, Baseball World Cup as well as broadcasting live news such as the ASEAN summit.
“There is a trend to deliver bigger and better coverage of large events each year. And Globecast confirms once again its role as a key player for the transmission and distribution of the world’s greatest sporting events by renewing our partnership with AsiaSat to keep providing a one-stop service including satellite capacity and uplinking over Asia,” said Francis Rolland, EVP satellites & strategic projects, Globecast.
