DirecTV Now is widening its content proposition with the addition of more content from premium cable network Starz.
The streaming offer provides 60 to 120 live TV channels in four tiers, which range from $35 to $70 per month. Fans of HBO and Cinemax can add these channels for just $5 additional each per month.
In 2017, new devices will be added to the DirecTV Now line-up including Roku streaming players and Roku TV models, Amazon Fire tablets, and smart TVs from Samsung and other leading brands.
The STARZ and STARZ ENCORE services will be available on the AT&T streaming service, as standalone options for $8 per month. They feature new and past episodes of STARZ original series, including the drama series Outlander, Power and the highly anticipated premiere of American Gods, along with films like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Inside Out and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“With today’s launch on DirecTV Now, Starz is continuing to extend the reach of its flagship STARZ products in the marketplace,” said Jeffrey Hirsch, COO at Starz. “The offering is a terrific service for our collection of STARZ Originals and quality feature film programming, which has proven to be very successful for the unmatched quality at an affordable price point. With DirecTV Now, AT&T is opening up barriers to entry that prevented a wide swath of audience from accessing our ground-breaking slate of originals and we are thrilled to work with them.”
In addition to the video-on-demand (VOD) content, three live premium channels – STARZ, STARZ ENCORE and STARZ KIDS & FAMILY – are also launching, as part of the $70 per month Gotta Have It skinny TV package.
