Atresmedia gains digital ad power with Smartclip Latam acquisition

Atresmedia has acquired Smartchip Latam, increasing its digital advertising portfolio across Spain and Latin America.
Smartclip manages over 200 premium formats through which it reaches 29 million unique users in Spain and 135 million in Latin America, according to Comscore MMX data released by Atresmedia.
By merging the advertising offerings and formats of Smartclip and Atresmedia Publicidad, Atresmedia*claims to be Spain’s leading digital ads operator. In Latin America, the Spanish media group has gained strong presence in Argentina, Mexico and Brazil, where Smartclip concentrates most of its business.
“The company has agreed with AMG Advertising the acquisition of Smartclip, following its refreshed advertising strategy*in digital markets,” said Atresmedia. The operation is expected to be formally concluded within a month.
Under the terms of the agreement, Smartclip’s founders will remain as minority shareholders of the Company. Smartclip*will continue operating as an independent company.
