Caracol claims to have reached 300 million monthly plays in Colombia across its various digital properties.
According to the company, audiences for the platforms managed by Caracol Next (the company’s digital branch) saw continued growth during Q1 2017. In addition, the CaracolTV mobile platform is now the most used in Colombia among those video apps developed by TV networks.
“The digital world is not the future, it’s the present and it’s constantly evolving,” said Marcelo Liberini, digital VP, Caracol. “We have to adapt to this world and learn how to survive in it.”
In a market of rising online video and video-on-demand (VOD) viewers, the company claims to have reached a leading position after having revamped several digital brands and platforms.
“There are always things to be done in the continuous race to reach new goals,” said Héctor Rueda, head of digital product, Caracol Next. “However, if the value-added elements are not well-defined, it’s easy to end up running in circles with no clear target.”
Caracol has also announced the premiere of two digital-only formats: a nine-episode series named Testosterona Pink, and a comedy, web series called Shock Mates.
