Univision king of Hispanic prime time

According to data from measurement firm Nielsen, *Univision has led Telemundo in US Hispanics’ prime-time viewing for twelve consecutive weeks.

During the week ending 25 June, Univision not only outperformed its arch rival in Spanish-language TV, but it also beat CBS among adults 18-34 with*the series José de Egipto, becoming the fourth most-watched US network.

Nielsen also found that in its premiere week, Univision’s José de Egipto attracted 1.6 million total viewers 2+, 668,000 Adults 18-49 and 269,000 Adults 18-34.
In addition, the series La Doble Vida de Estela Carrillo helped Univision rank as the number 3 broadcast network among adults 18-34 during the Monday-Friday 9pm hour. The TV show averaged 1.6 million Total Viewers 2+, 698,000 Adults 18-49 and 292,000 Adults 18-34.

With La Piloto’s 1.5 million total viewers 2+, 700,000 Adults 18-49 and 301,000 Adults 18-34, Univision outperformed ABC (+20%) and CBS (+43%), among adults 18-34.
Since the beginning of the year, Univision has managed to lead the US Hispanics’ audience ahead of Telemundo. In fact, May sweeps revealed both Univision and UniMas*outperformed the NBCUniversal channel.
