The anticipated premiere of Telemundo’s bio-musical series Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio was the most-watched Spanish-language show and outperformed CBS and FOX, among adults aged 18-49 on 27 June.

According to Nielsen figures delivered by*Telemundo, the show ranked as the number 1 Spanish-language program at 8pm, among adults 18-49 and 18-34. Based on the life of regional Mexican superstar Jenni Rivera, the series averaged 1.63 million total viewers.

With 743,000 adults 18-49 and 320,000 adults 18-34, the series premiere outperformed CBS and FOX at 8pm, among both demographics.

Besides, at 10pm, El Senor de los Cielos ranked as the most-watched Spanish-language program in primetime delivering 1.86 million viewers, winning over Univision’s Rosario Tijeras and scoring a victory for Telemundo in the US Hispanics audience war..

Locally, the premiere of*Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio*delivered strong ratings in Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Houston.

On social, the premiere ranked as the first program in terms of US social interactions among Hispanic networks. Content on Facebook reached 7.9 million users and the premiere generated 2.1 million global video views.
