Spain is heading for its first live Ultra HD HDR technology broadcast, with RTVE as broadcasting partner and Cellnex and Hispasat as signal distributors.
Today (5 July), the companies will offer live coverage of the Royal Guard Changing from Madrid. The event will be aired through the 4K test channel available in Madrid, Barcelona and Seville.
The project will also see the participation of other leading companies from the broadcast industry including Ateme, LG, Dolby, Albala, Abacanto, Grass Valley, Crosspoint, EVS and Canon.
The broadcast is part of the activities of the RTVE chair at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, established in January 2015, which has led to the development of a number of Ultra HD experiences.
Hispasat and RTVE have recently worked together to promote 4K technology through the satellite distribution of Ultra HD content for RTVE’s video-on-demand (VOD) platform, Botón Rojo.
