Imira Entertainment inks major content deals with Netflix, Disney, Turner, Viacom

Spain’s Imira Entertainment has announced several content deals with some of the biggest international broadcasters and video platforms.

The multi-content international agreement reached with subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) giant Netflix includes several animated series from Korean studio SAMG and the formats Vroomiz, Miniforce and Power Battle Watch-Car. In addition, the deal covers several of Imira’s Spanish-language productions, including Lucky Fred, Lola & Virginia and Sandra, Detective de Cuentos.

Disney has acquired the Imira-distributed series Larva for Latin America and the Caribbean, while Turner has acquired for Italy Cal Island’s Badanamu and Vroomiz.

Viacom’s Nickelodeon has expanded its rights for Larva, adding Spain, Portugal and the Portuguese-speaking African markets.

Other agreements recently reached by the Spanish distribution and production house include RTVE’s Clan, which has acquired the pre-school series YoYo; South Africa’s Showmax, which has purchased Jamillah and Aladin, Kindle Entertainment and Toonz Mediabiz; and Mexico’s Canal 11, which will air Zack & Quack and Yohoo & Friends.
