Aiming to deliver more engaging interactive sports video broadcast experiences that combine on-screen clickable graphics technology, Sixty has entered in to a partnership with live sports data company Opta Sports.

Under the terms of the deal, Sixty will now be able to allow its broadcasting customers to use Opta’s sports data analytics through the Ease Live interactive TV solution. Ease Live is designed to unify linear and online TV experiences with a consistent brand and design, providing on-screen graphics that come to life in the hands of the audience by making them ‘viewer clickable’ across all devices. The product can be used by any broadcast system or online video platform and integrates into workflows.

The partnership says Sixty will allow broadcasters to respond to the ever-growing demand for interactive mobile video and OTT streaming services. “Our partnership responds to the need for broadcasters, content owners and distributors to engage with future audiences by unifying all relevant data and video into one seamless user experience,” explained CEO Kjetil Horneland. “By supplying Opta Sport’s market-leading, live sports analytics within our Ease Live solution, broadcasters can now respond to the growing demand for non-linear viewing by enabling viewers to explore, play, interact and communicate with the sports content they know and love.”

For its part, Opta Sports head of broadcast data services Adam Bowley added: “Sixty’s Ease Live solution combined with our proven experience in collecting, collating and editorialising a diverse pool of live sports data, we have the perfect tools to radically enhance the way broadcasters deliver sports video experiences. We look forward to Opta and Sixty providing fans with the best possible broadcast, and OTT, sports experiences.”
