In a bid to enable manufacturers to maintain interoperability between devices and services in the smart home ecosystem, Eurofins Digital Testing has announced the Smart Home Test Suite.

To be officially debuted at IBC 2017, the new solution is an extension of the Eurofins TestWizard system which sees use among TV operators worldwide to reduce development, testing and deployment cycles to accelerate video service delivery. TestWizard has now been broadened to provide automated interoperability testing services and quality assurance across the smart home marketplace.

The Smart Home Test Suite also provides interoperability testing for a wide range of products using key wireless protocols such as HDMI, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, DNLA, Qi and CI+.

“The smart home market is increasingly fragmented, yet consumers expect smart home services to work seamlessly, with little or no intervention,” explained Eurofins Digital Testing international business line director Johan Craeybeckx. “For operators, the smart home represents both a remarkable business opportunity, and a daunting technical challenge. Eurofins’ Smart Home Test Suite is designed to help operators and manufacturers test the interoperability of new devices and services at scale to ensure a quality in-home experience.”
