New updates planned the for the YouTube mobile app include the introduction of further gestures.
It follows the double tap gesture brought in earlier this year that allows users to fast forward or rewind by 10 seconds.
The video platform now says its planning a new gesture that allows users to jump between videos with a swipe of the hand; left to go back and right to move to the next one.
The ability to slow down or speed up a video – already familiar to desktop users – is now being brought into the mobile version.
With the aspect ratio constantly changing between 4:3, widescreen and square, YouTube is planning to automatically reformat, according to the video. This will remove the black bars that appear on ‘non-standard’ videos.
The Google video platform has also tweaked its logo as part of a refresh to the desktop app with a new look and feel that includes a Dark Theme that turns the background dark for a cinematic feel.
