All the matches of Argentina’s newly-created Superliga will be broadcast free-to-air (FTA) through the DTT network until the end of the year.
Despite the agreement reached with the country’s football association, AFA, with FOX and Turner to bring the popular competition back to pay-TV, it has now been revealed that the first division’s games will remain available on a free-to-air basis.
According to Rodrigo de Loredo, president of Argentina’s public telco Arsat, speaking to the local media, national football will be broadcast through the Televisión Digital Abierta (TDA), the country’s DTT network, for three to four months.
Initially, it was agreed that both FOX and Turner would deliver the games for free during the first weeks of competition, which kicked off on 20 August.
Now, de Loredo said, the TDA will continue to air the games even when FOX and Turner start charging for their premium networks.
