When Love Kills brings in top ratings in US

The televised premiere of the original film, When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story, has brought in 1.2 million unique viewers for US cable network TV One.


According to Nielsen, the film now ranks as TV One’s No 1 original film premiere of all time among all key demos, including households, persons aged 2+ and adults aged 25 to 54. This was also TV One’s best Monday prime performance of all time for the latter.

The success also made TV One the No 2 network in ad-supported cable among African Americans across all key demos, and was a top 10 cable network among women aged 18-49 (No 5) and women aged 25-54 (No 8) for its timeslot.

Meanwhile on Twitter, #WhenLoveKills began trending during the film premiere, starting at No 6 nationally and reaching No 1 by the end of the night. The hashtag remained in the Top 10 for 7.5 hours until 4am ET. The show also ranked No 2 on the Nielsen Social Daily Top Five list, with 54,000 unique Facebook and Twitter posts, generating 117,000 interactions.
