ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) has extended its output agreement with TVNZ in New Zealand for all its content in the country.
One of New Zealand’s leading commercial broadcasters, TVNZ reaches more than 2 million people through TVNZ 1, 2, DUKE, its online entertainment destination TVNZ.co.nz and its news site 1 NEWS NOW.
Renewing in 2018, the new multi-year deal with ITVS GE — brokered by Camelia Mowbray, sales executive for New Zealand and Japan at ITVS GE — means TVNZ will continue to have first look across all of the UK broadcaster’s genres including drama, entertainment, factual entertainment and documentaries. As well as airing new series including Victoria, Cold Feet and Prime Suspect: Tennison, TVNZ will continue to show some of ITVS GE’s most popular series from Coronation Street and Emmerdale to The Chase and The Jeremy Kyle Show.
Commenting on the deal, Augustus Dulgaro, EVP, Asia Pacific for ITV Studios Global Entertainment and chief operating officer, ITV Studios Australia, said: “This latest renewal in the Asia Pacific region shows once again that our extensive global catalogue remains extremely popular. We are delighted that TVNZ has agreed to continue offering its viewers in New Zealand the very best of our new and returning series.”
Added TVNZ director of content Cate Slater: “This continuation of TVNZ’s longstanding relationship with ITV highlights the appeal of the content and makes sure TVNZ can continue to deliver viewer favourites like Coronation Street and Victoria.”
