Following successful cooperations in the Basel region and in French-speaking Swit-zerland, from mid-September UPC will also be the new telecommunications provider in the EBL cable network in the Emmental / Luzerner Landschaft region. Some 20,000 additional homes will have access to Internet, TV, telephony and mobile services from UPC as a result.
The EBL cable network in the Emmental / Luzerner Landschaft region currently includes some 20,000 homes. Now EBL has decided to replace the present telecommunications pro-vider, Quickline, which currently supplies around 7,500 customers with digital TV, Internet and telephony within this network, with UPC. “We have already been working together suc-cessfully with UPC as a provider for communication and entertainment in our cable networks in the Basel region and in French-speaking Switzerland for many years. Now we are follow-ing suit with our cable network in the Emmental / Luzerner Landschaft region in order to fur-ther standardise the product range and optimise customer service,” says Adrian Koessler, a member of EBL’s executive board.
Customers set to benefit from the best entertainment and connectivity with UPC UPC is also happy about the extended partnership with EBL. “We are delighted that with the addition of the cable network in the Emmental / Luzerner Landschaft region, from September we will be supplying all EBL networks with Internet, TV, telephony and mobile services. Cus-tomers will be able to go online at speeds of 500 Mbits/s in the future and with the new sports channel, MySports, they can enjoy next to other sports Swiss ice hockey and Bundesliga football,” says Christophe Millet, Vice President Partner Networks at UPC. The respective customers with digital TV, Internet or telephony were personally informed about the change of provider and the options available to them a few days ago in a letter.
