Fight Sports’ New York-based parent company, CSI Sports, has acquired TV rights to the Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz WBC Heavyweight World Championship Live event.
The boxing match is set to take place on 3 March at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn. The deal covers rights in over 50 countries, including in Japan, Spain, Germany, Belgium, India, Singapore and sub-Saharan Africa.
Wilder, who has a 39-0 record with 38 knockouts, looks to defend his title for the seventh time since claiming the belt in a unanimous decision victory over Bermane Stiverne in January of 2015 – the only fight to go the distance in Wilder’s spectacular career thus far. He faces fellow undefeated heavyweight Luis Ortiz, who has 28 wins and 24 knockouts against 0 defeats.
Fight Sports will broadcast the event live as part of a doubleheader, airing it alongside HBO’s Championship Boxing feature, with Sergey Kovalev defending his WBO Light Heavyweight World Championship against Igor Mikhalkin from the Madison Square Garden Theatre in New York City.
