Virtual a reality for Com Hem cable network

Swedish triple-play provider Com Hem has selected Harmonic's CableOS virtualised CCAP solution to create what it says is the world's first virtualised cable access network.

As a software-based Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS), CableOS enables streaming-friendly broadband services while at the same time lowering space requirements and operating costs. CableOS is also the technology platform powering Com Hem's recently announced symmetrical 1.2Gbps service test being conducted in Stockholm.
