Red Studios-produced drama Safe has been given the accolade of marking the official closing of the first Cannes International Series Festival (Canneseries) official awards ceremony on 11 April.

Created by the Studiocanal company for C8 and Netflix, on which platforms it will premiere exclusively in France and in the rest of the world respectively, Safe tell the story of Tom bringing up his two daughters in a beautiful gated community after his wife dies a year earlier. However, when his eldest daughter disappears in mysterious circumstances he realises that in fact he knows nothing about the people closest to him - dark secrets about the people he loves and the place where he lives.

Created by crime novel author and showrunner Harlan Coben and written by screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst (Shameless), the 8-part series stars Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Michael C. Hall (Dexter, Six Feet Under), Audrey Fleurot (A French village, Spiral), Amanda Abbington (Sherlock) and Emmet J. Scanlan (The Fall).

Coben, Hall and Audrey Fleurot will present Safe at Canneseries which runs alongside the established MIPTV market.
