Identifying reason for poor reception

I'm in Croatia on the coast with following equipment:
4 quattro Inverto LNB's + 100cm Gibertini dish, local mutiswitch
and a couple of cheaper receivers. The system is cabled centrally
throughout the house / couple apartments from the cellar.

The fact is, the satellite system is mainly used by the guests/apartments
and I don't touch it during the year. I've never been happy with
reception no matter how hard and precisely I try to set things up
using simple sat test device and satellite receiver - I just can't seem
to pickup channels which others in the vicinity pickup, so I would
appreciate some suggestions (can be technical/equipment wise as
I am from an electronic background) to finally get to the bottom of the
problem.

(a)I doubt that there is something wrong with the dish location (something
blocking the signal), but here's a couple of photos of the installation
in case I have overlooked something.
(b)How do you test for possible problems/insufficient capacity with the power supply for the
multiswitch ?
(c)What other tests/equipment should be used to try to identify the problem ?

Hi Looking at the pictures there is nothig to block the signals. If the channels you are looking for are being picked up by other people in your area then it seems to me you have a problem with dish/Lnb setup. Is your dish the correct size for the satellite you wish to pick up. Do you pick up any channels and what is the signal quality reading??? What receivers do you have and do they have correct up to date frequencies. Regards

There is nothing in the photos that would indicate the cause of the defect.

Is your multifeedholder suitable for your dish? (or just adaptation) of a dealer or homemade?

Which satellite do you want to receive? in ° please

Have you followed the instructions to install your multifeed dish?

Give us more info & pictures ...

Make sure you do not have any short circuits in the F-plugs
