Sony has launched a new app for its subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service Crackle that supports Xbox One in Latin America.
Under the terms of an agreement between Sony and Microsoft, XboX One owners will gain access to Crackle’s SVOD catalogue, which they can subscribe to through their pay-TV provider.
“We’re happy to keep expanding Crackle’s footprint throughout connected platforms in Latin America such as Xbox One, one of the main entertainment devices for the region’s young audiences,” said José River Font, VP and GM, Sony Pictures Television Digital Networks Latin America.
“Through this move, we aim to help pay-TV operators to increase their audience and subscribers by adapting to the new content consumption habits in the region,” he added.
Crackle has distribution agreements with several pay-TV and over-the-top (OTT) players in Latin America, delivering a VOD catalogue of original content including Absentia and Preacher, as well as other hit series such as Criminal Minds and Scorpion.
